Vinia Lee Fisher

Mrs. Vinia Lee Hunter Fisher, 77 years old, of Greenville, S.C. formerly of Greenwood, S.C., received her wings on June 13, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Vinia Lee Hunter Fisher, born September 4, 1944 in Greenwood, SC to the late J.C. and Lourlee Hunter Sr. Vinia received her education in the Greenwood public school system. She was employed with Greenwood School District 50 for 37 years as a Dietitian. She was also Greeter at Walmart for years.


Vinia was a faithful lifetime member of Springfield Baptist Church, where she served faithfully until her health declined her. She served in the Hospitality ministry, Usher ministry, Spiritualaires Choir and the Mass Choir, also she attended Sunday School and Bible Study.

She leaves to cherish her memories, Children Jonathan B. Fisher of Greenwood, S.C., James W. (Renee) Fisher of Greensboro, N.C. and Janice A. Fisher-Young of Greenville, S.C. Vinia has 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Siblings: J.C. (Shirley) Hunter, Jr, David Wideman, Dorothy Tucker all of Greenwood, S.C. and Mable Smith of Atlanta, Georgia and Carloyn Jones of New York, New York. One brother-in-law Ronald Smith Sr. Siblings who preceded her in death, Elbert Smith and Betty Smith. She has a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Homegoing Services will be held Saturday June 18, 2022 at Springfield Baptist Church with Rev. Dr Robert Knox officiating. Public viewing will be held from 1-6 pm Friday at the funeral Home.
