Thomas Robert Gray

Mr. Thomas Robert Gray, 84, of 121 Empire Circle, passed from earth to eternity on January 5, 2024, at Self Regional Medical Center. He was born in Greenwood County on January 9, 1939, a son of the late Willie Gray and Susan McAdams Gray. He was a retired educator in Greenwood and Georgia School Districts until his retirement. He was a graduate of Brewer High School Class of 1955, Allen University Class of 1958 and received his Master's Degree from North Carolina A&T.

Mr. Gray was a lifelong member of Mt. Pisgah AME until it merged with Weston Chapel AME where he served as former Steward and Trustee in both churches for many years. 

Surviving are: his cousins: Clyde Gray, Sr. (Barbara) of Greenwood, SC, Joyce Gray Walker of Clarksville, TN; Angela Gray Wideman of Greenwood, SC and Brenda Daniels Davis (William) of Huntsville, TN; and a host of other cousins and friends. 

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, in the Percival-Tompkins Chapel with Rev. Furman Miller officiating and Rev. Paul Wharton presiding. Public viewing will be held from 1 pm until 5 pm on Monday, January 8, 2024, in the Percival-Tompkins Chapel. 

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be contributed to Weston Chapel AME Church, 805 East Cambridge Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646.
