Mrs. Thelma Diane Boozer Drennon, 70, of 304 McKellar Drive entered into eternal rest on Wednesday April 2, 2025 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born September 2, 1954 in Greenwood County, South Carolina, she was the daughter of Thelma Kinard Boozer and the late Tommie Roy Boozer, Sr.
She attended Greenwood Public Schools and was a 1972 graduate of Hayfield Secondary High School in Alexandria, Virginia. She graduated from Piedmont Technical College where she received an associate degree in Human Services and was a certified Human Service Worker (CHWS). She attended Lander College and was a member of the Kappa Gamma Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
She was a member of Morris Chapel Baptist Church where she served on the Medical Committee and Clothing Ministry. Thelma was a member of the Little River Missionary Baptist Association Health Ministry and a member of the NAACP Greenwood/Ninety-Six Branch.
Leaving to cherish her most fond and precious memories, her husband of 43 years, Sammy L. Drennon, Jr., one son, Tommie DeJohn Drennon of the home; her mother, Thelma K. Boozer of Greenwood, South Carolina; one sister, Miranda L. Boozer of Wesley Chapel, Florida; one brother, Tommie Roy (Madeline) Boozer, Jr. of Goldsboro, North Carolina;
A celebration of Life for Thelma Diane Boozer Drennon will be held at 11:00 A.M on Monday, April 7, 2025 in Oakbrook Memorial Park with Pastor Anthony R. Sanders officiating. Assisting will be Reverend Paul N. Wharton, Reverend Johnnie Waller, Archbishop Emanuel Spearman and Brother Courtney Smith.
Pallbearers will be Corey Drennon, Herman Bowie, Erwin Wideman, James Sanders, Willie Sherrad, Lorenzo Brown, Willie Carter and William Johnson.
Flower Bearers will be Edith S. Childs, Melanie W. Rucker, Linda C. Brown, Mattie Fulton, Vicki Ouzts and Katlyn Bowie.
Honorary Escorts will be Parks Funeral Home Staff.
Public viewing will be from 1-5 PM on Sunday and Omega services will be at 4:30.
