Simeon L. Spearman

Simeon L. Spearman, 89, of 126 Sylvan Road, Avondale Subdivision, formerly of 922 Flatwood Road, Hodges, widower of Rhoda A. Johnson Spearman, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Friday, November 7, 2025 at his home.

He was born in Greenwood, May 11, 1936 to the late Charlie Spearman, Sr., and Ollie Mae Campbell Spearman. He was a faithful member of Allen Chapel AME Church and retired from Pirelli Cable Corp. He also worked  with the County of Greenwood at the Recycling Center for many years.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph, Charlie, Jr., John L, LT, Solomon and Robert, sisters Burlie Lewis, Elizabeth Jemison, Izola Aull and Annie Riley, and his son Simeon Thomas Spearman.

He is survived by his daughters, Robin Whiting (Jerome)  of Montgomery, Alabama, Shiree L Spearman and Teka Joi Spearman  of Greenwood; a brother, Kadell Spearman of the home, a daughter-in-law, Towanda Spearman of Greenwood; sisters-in-law, Effie and Esther Spearman of Greenwood, Armenia Johnson of Pittsburgh, PA, and Theresa (Larry) Nelson of Sarasota FL, a brother-in-law, Melvyn (Frances) Johnson of Pittsburgh PA, a goddaughter, Tonjala Burton Mack, 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Services will be held 2 PM Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Allen Chapel AME Church with Paster Julius D. Crawford Officiating. Entombment will follow in Oakbrook Mausoleum.
