Robert Lee Elmore 81, of 105 Rebecca Drive widower of Rose Middleton Elmore entered into eternal rest on July 25, 2024.
He was born in Greenwood County March 12, 1943 a son of the late Willie Elmore, Sr and Mamie Morgan Elmore.
He was a member of John’s Creek Baptist Church where he served as Trustee and Superintendent of the Sunday School.
He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army and retired from Schlumberger/ Neptune Meters.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Elease Lagroon, Mary Ellen Quarles, Julia Pittman; two brothers, John Ervin Elmore and Calvin Ray Elmore.
Surviving are two brothers, Rev. Willie Elmore Jr (Rosetta) of Newbery, SC and James Elmore (Lorraine) of Greenwood; two sisters, Daisy R. Wells and Josie Elmore of Greenwood; his deceased wife’s daughter Monica Middleton and her two sons, Shaundell Middleton and Gregory Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be held 1 PM Friday, August 2, 2024 at John’s Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Allen Aiken Officiating assisted by Rev. Janet Corley Presiding.
Mr. Elmore will be placed in the church at Noon.
Public viewing will be held from 1-6 pm on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at the funeral home.
Burial with Military Honors will be at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will be receiving friends Tuesday - Thursday from 2-7 pm at his home 105 Rebecca Drive, Greenwood.
