Reginald Boozer Obituary

Reginald Boozer was born January 30, 1961 in Greenwood County to Jeanette Luchey Boozer and the late James Carroll Boozer.  He entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 10, 2022 at his home in Greenwood.

He attended Weston Chapel AME Church as a child where he sang on the Sunbeam Choir.  He loved walking home from church and stopping to visit with his aunt and cousins on the way.

Reginald graduated from Greenwood High School in 1979, then entered the U.S. Navy. After serving, he moved to Atlanta, GA, where he worked in hospital administration for Grady Memorial Hospital, then for Emory University Hospital.

While living in Atlanta, Reginald was an active member of Oakland Missionary Baptist Church. He joined the church in 2005 and remained a member until he moved to Greenwood. He served in the Usher Ministry and the Music Ministry, where he was a lead singer and soloist. Reginald served on the Youth Advisory Board, planning and coordinating the activities of the Youth Ministry and providing supervision and guidance to the youth. He was a faithful attendee in Sunday School and Bible Study

Reginald gave unselfishly to anyone who needed his help, specifically adopting an indigent family in the church and becoming a big brother to the children.

Known as Reggie by his family and friends, he will be remembered as a generous, compassionate person who enjoyed spending time with family, traveling with friends, and lending a helping hand to anyone in need.

Reginald was preceded in death by his father and older brothers — Willie Alfred Blair, Larry Blair, Kenneth Eric Blair, and Gregory Carroll.  He leaves to cherish precious memories his mother, three sisters — Sandra Boozer-Greene (Socrates), Kim Boozer Williams (Andre’), and Rev. Audrey Boozer; two sisters-in-law — Lorraine Blair and Rosetta Carroll; adored nieces and nephews — Christopher Davis, Shaundrell Carroll, Krystle Blair Dendy (Aviss), Bethany Boozer, Candace Greene, Eric Blair (Brittany), Chloe’ Greene, Alexis Williams, Kayla Williams, and Caleena Greene; a host of great nieces and nephews, and two great-great nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Services will be held 11:00 AM  Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Evening Star Cemetery with Rev. Kimberly Martin officiating. Public viewing will be from 1-5 pm Friday. Percival Tompkins Funeral Home is honored to serve the Boozer family.
