Melvin Douglas "Bubba" Griffin

Mr. Melvin Douglas “Bubba” Griffin, of 101 Kentucky Ct., was born on October 18, 1961, to the late Willie Griffin, Sr., and Rosetta Lyons Griffin.

Melvin attended Greenwood High School, where he was an outstanding football player. He was formerly employed by Ardis Roofing and Lloyd Roofing for many years until his decline in health.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Bernice Marie Griffin “Butter Roll”, Angela Leola Griffin “Miss Chicken”, Tonia Loretta Griffin “Tonk”; brothers, Willie James Griffin, Jr. “Tater”, and Christopher Lamont Griffin “Hut”.

Leaving to cherish his memories are his caretaker, best friend, and wife of 32 years, Vitanza Walker Griffin of the home; a son, Adrian Lamont Griffin (Charleston, SC); four sisters, Linda Oliver, Tamara “Tammy” (Willie) Griffin, and Christa “Duck” Griffin all of Greenwood, Wanda Dula (Rome, GA); sister-in-law, Tammy (Willie) Griffin of Greenwood, SC; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at Springfield Baptist Church (Laurens Hwy) Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 1PM with Rev. Dr. Robert Knox officiating and Rev. La Juanta Hair presiding. The body will be placed in the church 1 hour prior to the service. Public viewing will be at the Funeral Home on December 1, 2023, from 1PM until 6PM.
