Lillie Ruth Hill

Lillie Ruth Hill, 84, of 306 Utopia Avenue, Bradley, SC, widow of Jasper Hill, entered into eternal rest on August 14, 2025, at her home. 
She was born in Greenwood County on December 6, 1941, a daughter of the late Charlie Harrison and Lillie Mae Ross Williams. She was retired from Professional Medical Products and graduate of Brewer High School Class of 1962. 

She was a former member of Second Damascus Baptist Church where she served as past president of the Usher Board, Willing Workers, Sunday School Teacher, Youth Choir Advisor, Past President of the Gospel Choir, Mass Choir, Faith Outreach Ministry, member of the Seven Last Word Choir and advisor of the Union Mass Choir. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Janice Hill a son Stanley Hill her siblings, Rev. Arthur Kemp, Robert Harrison, Jeff McKee, Gaines Williams,  Milton Williams and Annie Miller.

She moved her membership to Mars Hill Baptist Church in 2016 and decided to rest from her various ministries.

Surviving are: her son, Gregory Hill, of the home; a daughter, Aljeania Warren, of the home; a nephew reared in the home and Donnie Hurley; five grandchildren: Anika Hurley, Don’tavious Hurley, R.J. Warren; one sister, Betty J. Williams; a God sister, Louise Tolbert; four brothers: Willie B. Williams, Arthur McKee, Clayton T. Williams, and Donnie Williams (Jean); several in laws: Brenda Williams, Mamie Gilchrist (Frank), David Hill (Gerri), Clifford Hill (Mary), Thomas Hill (Linda), Betty Hill, Betha Culver and Louise Tolbert; a host of god children: Jackie Grant, Linda Gail Payne, Carolyn Greene, Henrietta Cohen, Lula Mae Wright, Carl Lanier, Sandra Easley, Lois Anty, Patsy Crawford, A. L. Crawford, Kathy Donald and Roy Freeman; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services for Mrs. Hill will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Springfield Baptist Church (Edgefield, SC) with Rev. Tommy Stanford officiating. 

Interment will follow in Second Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery.

Public viewing will be from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 18, 2025, in the Percival-Tompkins Chapel.

Mrs. Hill will lie in state at Springfield Baptist Church (Edgefield, SC) from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour on Tuesday. 

The family is at the home.
