Leroy Williams, age 71, gained his heavenly wings on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont in Greenwood, South Carolina. He was born in Abbeville, South Carolina on May 20, 1951. He was the son of Chessie J. Oliver and the late Walter Williams.
He was educated in McCormick and Abbeville County schools and a graduate of J.S. Wright High School in Abbeville, South Carolina. He was a retired construction Worker with Savannah River Site in Aiken, South Carolina. He was a devoted and faithful member of St. Mary AME Church in Mt. Carmel, South Carolina. Leroy had a warm, caring, kind, friendly and outgoing personality. He loved God, his family and friends and was very protective of them.
He leaves to cherish loving and fond memories to his mother, Chessie J. Oliver, his children: Adrienne (Jonathan) Wells, Syvol Middleton, Brandon Middleton, Torris (Nancy) Smith and Tionji Martin. Six grandchildren: Jasmine Wells, Nyla Morton, Kingston Washington, Olympia Smith, Ranesia Coleman and Deasia Coleman. Also, seven siblings: Rev. Dr. Clara Barnes, James (Sandra) Oliver, Rev. George (Brenda) Oliver, Margie Oliver, Mary (Dexter) Cartledge, Harold Oliver and Geanice (Terrence) Paul and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; three caring and devoted friends, Dale Holland ,Larry Power and Jerome Clinkscales.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Julia Coleman.
