Mr. Leon Curtis Ebo entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 9, 2024. He was a lifelong resident of Greenwood, SC. Leon was a loving husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He was born on August 2, 1955, to Israel Ebo, Sr., and Carrie Lee Marshall Ebo.
Leon attended the schools in Greenwood County and the Vocational Rehabilitation Center of Greenwood. He was employed by Greenwood Mills for many years.
Leon was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church at an early age and regularly attended until his health and transportation issues prevented his attendance. Leon had faithfully served in the church and relished the time he served as a trustee at the church. Leon was fortunate enough to meet members of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Crosshill, SC. He received transportation to attend their church and later became a member. He served as a member of the Brotherhood, a member of the senior Sunday School Class, a member of the Usher Board, and he traveled and sang with the Inspiration Choir.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; a sister, Yvonne Dargan; and three brothers: Israel Ebo, Jr., George W. Ebo, Sr., and John A. Ebo.
Leon’s memory will be cherished by: his wife Monica; brother, Clyde Ebo of Greenwood, SC; sister, Barbara (Ben) Harrison of Cleveland, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church (Coronaca). Mr. Ebo will be placed in the church at Noon. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be held from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at which time the family will receive friends from 4-6 pm in the Percival-Tompkins Chapel. The family is at their respective homes.
