Katie Rebecca Butler 83, of 640 Chipley Avenue entered into eternal rest on October 24, 2024. She was born in Honea Path July 3, 1941 a daughter of the late Bernard Smith and Bertha McKelvy Smith.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Coretta Owens, her siblings, Phillip Smith, Andrew Smith, Kenneth Smith, Ollie Smith, Steven Smith, and Arneatha Peterson.
She is survived by a son Delaney Smith (Gladys) of Greenwood; seven daughters, Dutchess Sayles (Robert) and Audrey Bolden, Melissa Willingham (Gordon) of Greenwood, Caroline Mosley and Sandra Butler of Belton, SC, and Laura Mattress of Ft. Myers, Fl and Gail Butler of Honea Path, SC; a brother, Bobby Smith of Greenville, SC; 28 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews’ other relatives and friends.
Services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, October 30, at Percival Tompkins Chapel with Pastor Faye Evans Johnson officiating assisted by Pastor Annette Edwards.
Public viewing will be held from 1-5 PM on Tuesday October 29, 2024 at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of her son, Delaney (Gladys) Smith 533 Pelzer Street and a daughter, Audrey Bolden 640 Chipley Avenue Greenwood.
