Johnnie Mae Holloway- Burns, 75, of 235 Woodrow Avenue, Greenwood, SC., on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, the Lord summoned for his angel to come home.
She was born in Greenwood County February 6, 1950, a daughter of the late Geneva Holloway.
She attended Brewer High School, Class of 1969. She was a member of New Faith Tabernacle and retired from Lander University in 2015. She was also a member of the West Side Community Club.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Geneva Holloway, brothers, Willie Holloway, Bobby Holloway and beloved granddaughter, Aquanda Lewis.
She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Angela (Darrell) Lewis of Greenwood; son, Marcus Keith (Shemeka) Holloway of Greenwood; one brother, Charles Holloway of Charlotte, NC; six grandchildren, DeMarcus Holloway of Greenwood, Demetrius Lewis of Greenwood, SC, Markevius (Deana) Dawson of Atlanta, GA, DeMarcus (Nica) Boysaw of Conroe, TX, Jayda Boysaw-Holloway of Jackson, MI and Michel Holloway of Greenwood, SC; 10 great grandchildren and a great grand raised in the home, Zayden Lewis of Greenwood, SC and a host of other loving family and friends to mourn her passing.
Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Bernard Morman officiating assisted by Rev. Irwin Leverette.
Burial will follow in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
Mrs. Holloway-Burns will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from Noon until 1 p.m.
Public viewing will be held Monday March 31, 2025, from 1-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of her son, Marcus Keith (Shemeka) Holloway, 302 Bermuda Drive; Greenwood, SC.
