Joan Clark

Joan Johnson Clark went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 9, 2023. She was born in Abbeville, SC on July 15, 1944 to the late Fred Johnson, Sr and the Late Bessie Lee Henry Johnson.

She was of the Baptist faith.She attended J.S.  Wright High School and was with the class of 1964. She was the Drum majorette for the marching band.

At an early age she left Abbeville SC and made her home on Baltimore, MD

She returned to SC and worked in the Abbeville Memorial Hospital for a period of time before moving to Greenwood, SC.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories, a daughter Bequine Renee Clark of Mount Vernon, NY; a son Barry( LeRuisha)  Delvon Clark of Los Angeles, CA; five grandchildren, Ashley Whittington of Greenwood, Lyeisha Milligan of Greenville, SC, Barry Clark of Lavonia, GA, Brandon Clark of Richmond, VA and Brandi Monee Clark of Front Royal, VA; two sisters, Brenda Tildon of Edgewood, MD and Bessie Harrison of Abbeville, SC , two sisters in law, Minnie Johnson and Martha Johnson both of Abbeville, SC ; one brother in law, Garnell Harrison of El Paso, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends which includes two devoted friends Carolyn White and Brenda Tate.

She was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Clark White, four sisters, Thelma Harrison, Dorothy Harris, Diane Jackson and Eleanor Wharton; two brothers, Fred Johnson, Jr and John Robert Johnson.

Services will be held 1 PM Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Percival Tompkins Chapel with Bishop Emanuel Spearman officiating. Percival Tompkins Funeral Home is honored to serve the Clark family.
