Jessie Bell Hampton

We are sad to announce the passing of Jessie B. Hampton, 87, also known as Miss Jessie, of Greenwood South Carolina she entered into God's Kingdom on December 3rd, 2023. She was born May 20, 1936, to Janie Lou and Booker T. Marshall.

Jessie passed away surrounded by her loved ones after battles with many health issue. She cared deeply for her family, neighbors and friends. She did this not out of obligation but because of who she was, she was always the first to offer help and she regularly brought inspiration to those that may have lost their way. Jessie had many friends and many of them referred to her as mom.

Jessie is survived by her son Curtis Hampton (Pam), her daughter/grand-daughter, Cemetris Hampton(David Quarles)-bonus daughter Daisy Davis, brothers J.L. Marshall and Clyde Marshall, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She had a huge family and they all loved her which included Theodore Hampton (Lola), Elizabeth (Hassie) Henderson, and Ruth Hampton.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Second Damascus Baptist Church with Rev. Leroy Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Hampton will lay in state in the church at 10:00 AM. Public viewing will be Tuesday, December 12, 2023, from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the funeral home. The family is at the home.
