Janie Arneatha (Smith) Peterson

Janie Arneatha Peterson, 86, of 533 Pelzer Street, transitioned into eternal peace on December 21, 2023, at NHC Healthcare of Greenwood. She was born to the parentage of the late Bernard Smith and Bertha McKelvy Smith on May 8, 1937.

She was predeceased by her husband, Larry Peterson, and four brothers: Phillip Smith, Andrew Smith, Kenneth Smith, and Ollie Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memories: a special nephew, Delaney Smith; her caretaker, Gladys Smith; a brother, Bobby Smith; a sister, Katie Butler; her special nieces: Caroline Mosley, Audrey Bolden, Melisaa Gains, Dutches Sayles, Laura Matress, Sandra Butler, Phyllis Smith; and a host of great nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.

Funeral Service will be held on December 28, 2023, at 1 PM in the Percival-Tompkins Chapel. Public viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from 1 pm until 6 pm in the Percival-Tompkins Chapel. The family is at the home.
