Mrs. Janie Butler Klugh transitioned to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. She was born on January 4, 1934, to the late James Sr. and Jessie Butler. She attended Greenwood County Public Schools and was a graduate of Brewer High School, Class of 1952.
Janie was a faithful member of Allen Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church since childhood. She leaves to cherish her memories her daughters, Clarissa Klugh- Scott (Kevin), Janice Klugh- Wilson (Kenneth); a sister, Mary Frances Hart; grandchildren, Dr. Adrienne Cain, Michael Cain, Monique Scott, Michael Scott and Tyler Wilson; brothers-in law, Retired Major General James R. Klugh (Theresa), Andrew Klugh; Olin Klugh (Vernell), a special friend, Ernest Dolford and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Services for Mrs. Klugh will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2025, at St. Paul AME Church, 4222 Cokesbury Road, Hodges, SC with Rev J. Darrell Crawford officiating.
Burial will follow in Oakbrook Memorial Park 3007 US-25 N, Hodges, SC.
Mrs. Klugh will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church on Friday, June 6, 2025.
The public viewing will be from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 5th, 2025, at Percival Tompkins Funeral Home. Percival Tompkins Funeral Home is honored to serve the Klugh family.
