James Carter III

James “Chubb” Carter III, 51 entered into departed this earthly life on July 7, 2023,in Greenwood, SC.  He made his grand entrance  into this world on June 29, 1972, the son of the late James Carter, Jr. and Thelma Sanders Carter.   He is known for his love, jokes, compassion and generosity.
 

He was employed at Pizza Hut. He loved cooking and serving people. HE loved and cared for his children and family. He graduated from Greenwood High School Class of 1990.    He was preceded in death by his sister, Vannetta Ann Carter, Grandfather: James “Jimmy” Carter Sr. two Grandmothers: Ida s. Edward and Johnnie Lou Carter, three Aunts: Henrietta Carter, Louise Carter-Simpkins and Deniece Shelman. four Uncles: Marion Sanders, Nathaniel Sanders, Charles Coleman, Thomas Simpkins.
He leaves behind his four sons, James Shondrel Graham of Bishopville, SC, Bryson Childs of Greenwood, SC;  Kadon and Jadon Sorrow, one loving grandson, Maine Graham of Greenwood, SC.  His only brother, Johnny Carter of Greenwood, SC. Uncles: James Warren (Phyllis) Sanders,  David June Sanders, Robert Lee “Lillie” Carter of Greenville, SC and Andrew “Diane“ Carter.  Aunts: Edith (Charles) Childs, Bobble Jean Donald, Helen Coleman of Greenwood.
One surviving Great Aunt, Thelma K. Boozer and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to mourn his passing. Services will be held 11:00 AM  Thursday at Percival Tompkins Chapel with Rev. Anthony Sanders officiating. The family is at the home 209 Clover Drive(formerly) Gray Street in Greenwood.
