Gregory Jon Smith was born in Detroit Michigan January 26, 1957 a son of the late John and Theresa Smith. He was the stepson of Reva Smith of Detroit Michigan
He was raised by his grandmother, the late Jessie W. Smith
Gregory joined Beulah Baptist Church at an early age. After High School Greg moved to Detroit, Michigan to live with his father. While living in Detroit he worked in a hospital as an Orderly. He also lived in Rhode Island, NY for a while.
Upon his return to Greenwood, he worked production at a fruit Company.
Greg enjoyed playing pool with his uncles and fishing. He loved riding his moped with his constant companion and love of his life Jo Ann Williams.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Crumbs (a twin) and Aunt Mattie Gold; his uncles, James Smith, Theodore Smith, Tyrone Smith and Frank Smith.
He leaves to cherish his memories one daughter, Bridget Sherese Crumb of Elizabethtown, NC; two brothers, Blake Waddy of Rhode Island, NY, Willie James of Virginia Beach, VA four grandchildren, Thareef Ali, Jahwad Ali, Gnolelani Ali Crumb, Rickyah Williams; five aunts, Jessie Rodgers of Williamsburg, VA, Fannie Smith of Colorado Springs, CO , Valeria Smith and Barbara Smith of Greenwood, SC and Wilhelmenia Williams of Spokane WA; two uncles Benjamin T. Smith (Mary) of Greenwood, SC, J.B. Smith (Brenda) of Columbia, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
