Gerald Scott

Mr. Gerald Callahan Scott 54, of 106 Chipley Avenue, Greenwood received his wings on May 15, 2023 at Hospice Care of the Piedmont.  Born in Greenwood, South Carolina on September 9, 1968, he was the youngest son of the late Elisha and Leomia Callahan Scott.

Gerald attended Greenwood High School. He was baptized in Dunham Temple Church at an early age where he sang on the youth choir.

Gerald was well known as a caring and loving person with a “BIG” Smile or grin. He loved music, Pittsburgh Steeler, soul food, his family, but most of all he loved the Lord.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Pamela, Wendell, Samuel, James Lawson and Richard.

He is survived by his loving sister, Vera Archie of Peterburg, VA and brother, Stanley Johnson of Greenwood; loving cousins, Kimberly Hawkins Quarles and Ethle Hawkins Smith both of Greenwood and Joyce Campbell of Ninety-Six, SC; and his aunt, Grace Hawkins of Greenwood. He is also survived by sisters in law, Mellissa Scott of Greenwood SC, Dorothy Scott of Hodges SC and many other loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends to cherish his memory.

Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Dunham Temple CME Church with Rev. James McKee officiating. Burial will be in Evening Star Cemetery. The family is at the home of his aunt, Gracie Hawkins 113 Richard Street, Greenwood,
