George Higgins 88, of 124 Sumpter Court widower of Charlie Mae Higgins entered into eternal rest on March 6, 2025 at NHC Healthcare
He was born in Greenwood County May 5, 1936 a son of the late Smith Higgins and Lillie M Holmes Higgins.
He was retired from Greenwood Mills and a member of Second Damascus Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Howard Higgins, Francis Coats, Sallie Holden, Willie Mae Holmes and Lona Bell Williams
Surviving is a brother, Heyward Higgins of Greenwood ; nieces reaerd in the home, Tachrislyn Coleman, Towanda Thomas, Satrina Thomas Laila Drake, Jamia Cloud, A’lani White, Winter Thomas and A’Marlee Chisholm; nephews reared in the home, Carson Coleman, Christian Coleman and Anthony White, Jr, Rashad Thomas and Kovie Thomas; sisters in law, Jo Ann Freeman, Ellen Quarles, Brenda Payne; a special friend, Rick Domonick and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Second Damascus Baptist church with Rev. Leroy Robertson officiating. Burial will be ib the church cemetery.
Mr. Higgins will lie in state from from noon until 1:00p.m. on Tuesday.
Public viewing will be from 1- 5 pm on Monday at the funeral home
