Ervin "Skeeter" Freeman

Ervin “Skeeter” Freeman Sr 76 of 603 Magnolia Avenue husband of Evelyn Logan Freeman entered into eternal rest on June 26, 2023 at Self Regional Medical Center. He was born in Greenwood County July 18, 1946 a son of the late Eddie” Buster” Freeman and Lida Mae Jackson Freeman. He was a member of Mt Zion Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon Ministry, Usher’s Ministry, Lawn Care Ministry, and was a member of the All-Male Choir. He was also a member of the Little River Usher’s Ministry

Surviving is his wife, Evelyn Freeman of the home, three sons, Anthony (Ada) Freeman of Cross, Hill, SC, Ervin Freeman, Jr and Jeffrey Freeman of the home; two daughters, Patricia (Will) White of Greenwood, and Marilyn Freeman of Greenville, SC; five brothers, Eddie (Bernice) Freeman, Jr of Greenwood, Roosevelt Freeman and Durell Freeman of Brooklyn, NY, Ernest Freeman of Atlanta, GA and Michael Freeman of Greenville, SC; two sisters, Helen Arnold of Brooklyn, NY and Hazel Hunt of Greenville, SC; one aunt, Minnie Freeman of Columbia, SC; 16 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Services will be held 2 PM Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Mt Zion Baptist Church with Pastor Cartrell Blume, Sr officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Mr. Freeman will be placed in the church at 1 PM. Public viewing will be from 1-6 PM Friday, June 30, 2023 at the funeral home. The family is at the home. Percival Tompkins Funeral Home is honored to serve the Freeman family.
