Douglas Everett Watts of Greenwood, South Carolina, passed away on March 16, 2025, at the age of 58. Born on February 17, 1967, in Greenwood, he was the beloved son of Charles Everett Watts and Carrie Lee Watts.
Douglas Watts was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many through his kindness and compassion. His parents raised 3 boys who grew up to be ambitious men and developed an unbreakable bond and friendship. He will forever be remembered as a man with an empathetic heart and known for his unconditional love of family and friends.
Douglas graduated from Greenwood High School in 1985. He cherished his time there, and the friendships he made during those years were treasured throughout his life.
In his professional career, Douglas brought his passion for learning to every endeavor. He nurtured a strong desire to help those in need during their time of bereavement. Douglas was dedicated member of the Percival-Tompkins Funeral Home family. We could always count on his unbridled humor to make us laugh whenever he was around. After his health declined he would still attempt to help or just check on us whenever we had a service. As he would say " I'm always in the trenches" Douglas was a supervisor at Cooper Power for many years. Douglas had a deep love for Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and served as trustee. Throughout the years, his hardwork and dedication earned him the respect and admiration of his peers. Douglas's contributions to his field will leave a lasting legacy.
Although Douglas had many accomplishments to his credit, he was most cherished for his warm heart and deep love for his family and friends. Douglas was a confidant, a source of unwavering support, and a shoulder to lean on during life's trials.
A genuine love of his family, Douglas found comfort and peace spending time with them as often as possible. His love was a testament to his appreciation of life's simple joys and lived each day to it's fullest.
Douglas is survived by his parents, Mr. Charles Watts and Mrs. Carrie Watts, brothers; Wayne Watts (Phyllis), Coby Watts (Alicia), 1 sister, Patia Burton (Quan), 3 nieces; Olympia Watts, India Watts, Camille Watts, a great niece, Zara Watts-Glover, 2 aunts; Mary Ruth Warren (Rev. Joe), Bernice Hentz, 1 godson, Uriah Edwards, and a host of relatives.
Doug will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his dear family and friends, forever reminding them of the impact he had on their lives.
In this time of mourning, let us find comfort in the memories we share and the legacy of love Douglas leaves behind. May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace.
