Cornell Puckett

Cornell “Scrapiron” Puckett 86 residing at NHC Healthcare Greenwood entered into eternal rest on September 11, 2024 at Hospice House and Palliative Care of the Piedmont. He was the widower of Mary M Puckett. He was born in Greenwood County February 20, 1938 a son of the late Annie Laura Puckett.

He was on the Baptist Faith and retired from Dussault Foundry Company in New York.

He was very outgoing and was known to be called the “Doorkeeper” at NHC in Greenwood.

He is preceded in death by his wife Mary A. Puckett and a brother Johnny M. Puckett, and a daughter, Angela P. Turner.

He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, John C. Puckett (Yvonne) of North Augusta, SC and Jason C. Puckett (Vickie Williams) of Greenwood; four daughters, Cynthia Diane McBride (Grant Stevens), Alice Faye Gilchrist, Daisy Davis and Jennifer Puckett all of Greenwood; 17 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Services will be held Noon Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Percival Tompkins Chapel with Rev. Johnnie Waller officiating assisted by Rev. Dana T. Tillman.

Public viewing will be from 11:00 am until 12 Noon on Sunday at the funeral home.

The family is at their respective homes.
