Cecil Grant

Mr. Cecil Grant, 80, of 509 Wright Avenue, husband of Patricia Alberta Grant, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Self Regional Healthcare. 

He was born in Waterloo, SC, on May 12, 1945, a son of the late Ed and Mamie Todd Grant. He was a member of Pine Pleasant Baptist Church and retired Logger.

He was preceded in death by: a son, Gregory Boyd Hurley; and his siblings, Price Grant, Eddie B. Grant, David Grant, James Grant, Pauline Anderson, Louise Grant, Gertrude Bolden and Phyllis Cook.

Surviving are: his devoted wife of 50 years, Patricia Alberta Grant, of the home; five sons, James Hurley (Ann) of Greenwood, SC, Richard Hurley of Georgia, Johnny Hurley (Denita) of  Columbia, SC, Kenny Hurley of Gastonia,  NC and Melvin Hurley of Columbia, SC; two daughters, Queen Moss (Charlie) of Greenwood, SC and Connie Butler (Ralph), of Columbia SC; one brother, Randy Miller, of Waterloo, SC; one sister, Ola Lawton, of Waterloo, SC;  17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Pine Pleasant Baptist Church with Pastor Willie Cannady officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Grant will lie in state from 10:00 am until the service hour on Monday, December 22, 2025. 

Public viewing will be from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the home, 509 Wright Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646 on Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm.
