Bruce O"Neal Pope

Bruce O’Neal Pope 64, of 118 Donegal Drive, husband of Gwendolyn Fuller Pope entered into eternal rest on July 31, 2023. He was a son of the late Willie James Pope, Sr. and Earline King Pope. 

He was a member of Pleasant Rock Baptist Church where he served as Head Usher. He retired from Velux and Burton Center and was a graduate of Ninety-Six HS Class of 1976. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two siblings, Willie James "Bug" Pope, Jr and Sanford Allen " AL" Pope.

Surviving is his wife Gwendolyn “Bonnie” Pope of the home, two daughters, Tanisha “ Niecy” Pope of Greenwood and  Teresa “Reese” Pope of the home; four brothers, Rev. William Earl (Jackie) Pope of Augusta, GA, Larry (Dianne) Pope, Sr of  Greenwood, SC , Rev. Carl (Toison) Pope of Hodgenville, KY and Marion Lee (Dr. Benita) Pope of Hillsborough, NC; two sisters, Doris(Moses)Miller  and Debra Pope of Greenwood; three grandchildren, Jaylen  Robinson, Jaimori Pope and Gekevious “Gee” Pope) Raymiya Jackson of Greenwood; two great grandchildren, Karter Pope and Rylee Pope; a special cousin, Earlene “Tootsie” King of Greenwood and host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, August 4, 2023 at Pine Pleasant Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Myers officiating and Pastor Willie K. Cannady Presiding. Burial will follow in Pleasant Rock Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Pope will be placed in the church at 1:00 PM

Public viewing will be from 1-6pm Thursday, August 3, 2023 at the funeral home. The family is at the home Percival Tompkins Funeral Home is honored to serve the Pope family.
