Bobie Coleman, age 87, of 5820 Highway 25 North in Hodges, South Carolina, departed this life on December 8, 2024, at the Care of the Piedmont Hospice House in Greenwood, SC.
Bobie was born on May 24, 1937, in Abbeville, South Carolina to the union of the late Wylie Coleman and the late Cecelia Connor Coleman. At a young age, he joined Glovers Chapel Baptist Church in Troy, South Carolina and in his later years attended Good Hope Baptist Church in Hodges, South Carolina.
He was a heavy equipment operator for Duke Energy for 25 years and after retirement, he was employed with Herbert Anderson Jr. Construction Inc.
Bobie was preceded in death by: his wife of 43 years, Muzurious Ida Coleman; three sisters: Lula Mae Childs, Izola Coleman Quarles, and Mary Frances Coleman Edwards; three brothers: Willie Coleman Jr., Howard Coleman, and Johnnie Edward Coleman.
He leaves to cherish his memory: two daughters, Renee Coleman of the home and Yoshunda (Carlos) Sullivan of Simpsonville, SC; one son, Lark Coleman, of Hodges; two sisters, Helen Ruth Lomax of Abbeville, SC and June (Bobby) Wardlaw of Hodges, SC; one brother, George (Elizabeth) Coleman, of Columbia, SC; three sisters-in-law: Donnie Perkins, Tommie Cena Robinson and Mamie Robinson all of Hodges, SC; one god grandchild reared in the home, Morgan Jones, of Winter Haven, Florida; one special cousin, Bobbie (Gloria) Turner, of Abbeville, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Services for Mr. Coleman will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 13, 2024, at Good Hope Baptist Church, Hodges, SC with Rev. Ron Moss Officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Coleman will be lay in state from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 13, 2024.
Public viewing will be held from 1:00 pm until 5 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at the funeral home. The family is at the home.
