America "Punkin" Mae (Carroll) Carter

America “Punkin” Mae Carter, 63, widow of James T. Carter, entered into eternal rest on July 23, 2022, at the Hospice House. She was born October 16, 1958, to the parentage of the late of James C. Carroll and Mattie Mae Quarles.

At an early age, America attended Springfield Missionary Baptist Church. She adored her grandchildren and enjoyed her western movies.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Clarice Carter; sister, Mattie Mae Carroll; and brother, Woodrow Phillips, Jr.

She is survived by her two daughters: Denise Carter and Mary Jane Carter; three grandchildren: America Renee Carter, David James Thompson and Crystal Ann Carter; and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Visitation will occur on July 28, 2022, from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. in the Percival-Tompkins Chapel.

Funeral Services will occur on July 29, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. in the Percival-Tompkins Chapel.
