Alfred Watson

Alfred Lewis Watson 87, of 3620 Cokesbury Road Hodges SC, widow of Robert Lee "Shag" Watson, entered into eternal rest on April 16, 2023 at Atrium Health in Pineville, NC. He was born in Greenwood County July 30, 1935 a son of the late Timothy Watson, Sr. and Bertha Mae Anderson Watson. He was a member of Little Zion AME Church where he served as a member of the Steward Board and has served as the chair pro tem. He retired from Lowe's Home Improvement as a Contractor Sales Representative. Surviving is his daughter, Sharon Watson-Hampton (Johnnie) of Pineville, NC; a sister, Eartha Williams of Greenwood;  a brother, Dr. Joseph Watson (Shirley) of Columbia, SC; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Watson of Greenwood; a brother-in-law, Nathaniel Davis, Sr. and a host of other relatives and friends. 

Services will be held Noon Friday, April 21, 2023 at Little Zion AME Church with Rev. Beatrice Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Oakbrook Memorial Park. Public viewing will be Thursday from 1-7PM at the funeral home.  Mr. Watson will be placed in the church at 11:00AM. The family is at the home and will receive friends from 4-8pm Thursday.  Please be mindful and wear a mask. Percival Tompkins Funeral Home is honored to serve the Watson family.
